Your roast data stays yours.
Coffee Coach AI has no servers and no Coffee Coach account. Your roast data is processed locally, then sent only through your own OpenRouter account to the AI model you choose. We never receive, store, sell, or see your roast data. We could not anyway: nothing is sent to us or transmitted to us, and we have no visibility into your data at all, ever.

How it works
Reads live logs
RoasTime writes a log file every ~5 seconds during your roast. Coffee Coach AI reads IBTS temperature, Rate of Rise, power, fan, and drum directly from disk, no screen scraping.
AI reads the full curve
Every 15 seconds, Coffee Coach AI sends the complete roast history plus your bean's context to your chosen AI model via OpenRouter.

Connected via USB to your Mac or Windows PC. Coffee Coach AI reads the live log files RoasTime writes during your roast, so the Bullet and RoasTime must both be running.
RoasTime
Free from Aillio and open during your roast. Coffee Coach AI watches RoasTime's live logs on macOS or Windows, with no manual data entry required.
OpenRouter account
Free to create at openrouter.ai. Add a few dollars of credit. A 12-minute roast costs less than $0.01 with our recommended model, and you set your own monthly spending limit.

Your roast telemetry goes from your computer directly to OpenRouter, then to your chosen model provider. It never passes through a Coffee Coach AI server because there isn't one.

Coffee Coach AI is a $4.99 one-time purchase from either the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store. The only ongoing cost is the OpenRouter API usage you choose, and that's entirely in your control.
Each platform purchase is sold through its own store. Buy the version for the computer connected to your Aillio Bullet.
We recommend Google Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite for its balance of speed, quality, and cost, but you can use any model available on OpenRouter.
Get an OpenRouter key at openrouter.ai →You set your own monthly cap in OpenRouter's settings. Coffee Coach AI never touches your billing.
Privacy
Your roast data stays yours
Coffee Coach AI has no servers and no Coffee Coach account. Your data is processed locally, then sent only through your own OpenRouter account to the AI model you choose. We never receive, store, sell, or see it.

You never create an account with us. Nothing to log into.

The app is purely local plus your OpenRouter account. We have no backend, no user account system, and no server that receives your app data.
Your telemetry goes to OpenRouter
The only data that leaves your computer is the coaching prompt: current telemetry, bean context, and a slice of your operator profile. It goes to your OpenRouter account, then to your chosen model provider.
Everything else stays local
Session data, telemetry logs, coaching events, analyses, and your RoastIQ profile are stored in a local SQLite database on your Mac or Windows PC.
Your API key stays secure
Stored in the macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Locker. Never stored in plain text or sent anywhere except OpenRouter for API calls.
We cannot see your data
We never receive, store, sell, or inspect your roast data. We could not anyway: nothing is sent to us or transmitted to us, and we have no visibility into your data at all, ever.
Delete the app, delete the data
Uninstalling removes the app. You can also remove local app data and delete the saved key through Keychain Access on Mac or Windows Credential Manager.
